The project that Raleigh Paper has chosen to support is the Haryana Renewable Energy Project which converts agricultural waste from rice farming into revenue. The Project displaces electricity and steam generation from fossil fuels, reducing carbon dioxide emissions from energy and electricity use. Founded as a private-sector initiative in 2006, the project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by more than 50,000 tonnes of CO2-e per year. This benefit is truly additional and would not occur without the support of organisations, companies and individuals willing to offset their climate change impacts. These carbon offsets are accredited under the
Voluntary Carbon Standard.

Nordset is an environmentally responsible paper produced from FSC (Mixed Sources) CoC certified pulp from Well Managed Forests, is Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) and is made Carbon Neutral. The greenhouse gas emissions produced from the transport, processing and manufacture of the wood pulp to the delivery to Raleigh Paper’s clients (the cradle to gate lifecycle) has been calculated, offset and certified by the Carbon Neutral Institute (CRI). Raleigh Paper has purchased carbon offset credits under the Voluntary Carbon Standard to offset these emissions. Nordset is manufactured by Nordland Papier, a company certified with environmental management systems ISO14001 and EMAS, the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (Reg.No.D-162-00007) Nordset has also been awarded the EU “Flower” eco-label certification.
